It’s common to hear an advice like, “Son, money doesn’t grows on tree” from a parent.
So the Son felt disappointed because his parent can’t afford to buy the stuff he wanted.
Could be something as simple as a new pair of shoes for Christmas. And of course, the parent would only say this if they really can’t afford – I believe that any parents would give the world to their child if they can. I have a child too, so I can relate.
Sidebar: This is NOT a parenting lesson so please don’t leave a comment about spoiling your kid and so on – I’m giving this as a metaphor for today’s post.
What happened? The Son developed a new belief system. As he keeps on getting these, sooner or later, it’ll be permanently accepted as the ‘truth’.
But what if you say to yourself, ‘money grows on tree’.
And you believe that.
Your whole world will change.
Money growing on trees is just a metaphor but if you start saying that all the time, you’ll start to manifest the thought that it’s EASY TO GET MONEY.
That’s the first step – to overcome your problem in your mind first. Once you’ve successfully done that, everything else is east and you know why?
Because if you really believe that is attainable and easy, you won’t give up.
Dreams are crushed not because they were too hard to achieve – they were crushed even before they start.
Becoming rich is difficult if one is obsessed with the mechanics of it because he’ll keep on finding more ways and trying his best to tweak the vehicle he’s using to obtain wealth. I was in that shoe before – the first vehicle I wanted to use was option trading. At that point, I was depressed because I couldn’t understand how it works and it overwhelmed my mind.
And you know how I finally crack the code of wealth?
Yup, you got it – by understanding how wealth works and how it starts from the mindset.
Until today, I still haven’t learned option trading but I’ve got my million from somewhere else. Point stated.
I know that some reading this will still think ‘millionaire mindset’ stuff is wishy washy. That’s why they don’t get it.
But be cautious about accepting metaphors blindly.
For instance, money growing on trees means passive income. But passive income is almost a myth if you don’t truly understand it. You still need to take care your tree right?
Well, same thing with passive income – you need to take care of your income streams too.
That’s why I prefer calling passive income as leverage income.
Use metaphors the right way and you’ll overcome your limiting belief. They’re very powerful because they relate to what you know and believe. But use wrongly, you’ll end up being one of those over-obsessed positive thinker who looks like cuckoo.
