2010 And Forward – What to Expect

December 27, 2009 by admin · 33 Comments

I want you to know that there’s no better time than to get excited about your life and goals - not because it’s going to turn 2010, it’s simply because today is always the best time.

There are 5 areas of life that I would seek to improve - health, relationship, spirituality, financial wealth and personal growth. None of them are at a higher priority than the others as they’re all holistically balanced to create the right combination of success in life.

2010 And Forward What to Expect

It’s a fact that if you don’t have financial wealth, your life could be slightly “inconvenient”. If you gonna give me the lecture that the monks and priests live happily ever after without seeking wealth, then I’m not going to argue with you. But look - you’re no monk or priest so be real, nothing to be embarrassed of.

Money is never evil. It’s a big wrong myth that rich people are arrogant, greedy or selfish and as a matter of fact, most of them are the opposite. So I would suggest you to make it a goal in 2010 to get to know some millionaires and rich people to learn what their secrets to wealth are. Who knows - they might even pass you some opportunities you can work together with them.

If you think you’re poor today, it’s because you ‘choose’ to become this way by your acts and thoughts. Same thing - if you’re rich, it’s because the way how you act upon opportunities and think of positive outcomes.

Would you believe me that I’ve received emails asking me to give them money because they believe in Law of Attraction and want the Universe to give them money from the sky? No wonder they’re broke and poor because they don’t take responsibility to for their own future. People just don’t understand how Law of Attraction actually works.

Look - you have to work for your own success. If you’re smart, you buy some courses or attend seminars to uncover the shortcuts or just take the long road by testing out on your own. Your choice. Both ways are fine and both still require work.

In 2010, I’ll be focusing more on the concept of multiple income streams (MSI). Now, MSI does not means that you got to have different kinds of income streams - it simply means you have more income streams. For instance, I will create income streams from offline publication books, seminars with other speakers and so on. So focus on what you already have or doing very well, then ‘branch’ out from there.

The other 2 important areas that are usually missed out when someone pursue the goal of attaining financial wealth is relationship and health. My friend, time flies very fast. Within a blink of an eye, you’ll see your children already grown up or your folks getting old. So cherish what you have now because by end of the day, your success is actually measured by the relationship that you have - not the money in your bank account. I’ve experience this from the sad and happy angle, when my Grandma passed away and also, seeing my baby girl growing right now in 2009.

Health? Put it this way, you can’t enjoy spending your money earned if you don’t have the body and mind to enjoy it. But I can tell you this - don’t be a health freak and miss out the joy of life. I mean, don’t eat cheese burger every day but hey, don’t torture yourself of not eating that because you’re worried that you’re going to get heart attack or something. Life is short, enjoy your food but just don’t overdo it. Dude, I’m not asking you to take drugs, it’s a cheese burger for Pete’s sake.

One more thing about health - if you can afford it, do take supplements especially those green stuff supplements. Our food and environment are getting worse so you need whatever ‘effortless’ thing to give you the edge to stay focus, energetic and vibrant when you’re on track to success.

Spirituality comes from within. Whether it’s your connection to God, your inner voice, Law of Attraction and so on, it gives you the serenity and harmony in your mind and soul. You need that. You’ve seen and heard of stories people ‘let go’ of everything and pursue a greater goal because they have aligned with their spirituality part and ultimately, it leads to happiness. My point? Spirituality leads to happiness.

Funny thing is, our ultimate goal is suppose to be happy but you don’t hear people attending seminars on how to be happy because they thought money makes them happy and so on. The truth… happiness is obtain when you’re grateful with what you have and understands that you have a beautiful life - regardless of who you are.

And lastly, I’ll be seeking for more personal growth in 2010. Personal growth is about enriching your experience and expanding your knowledge. You see, the only thing that does not change is Change itself. So if you want to transform yourself into a better person in any positive angle, then I highly suggest you to uncover many more secrets to personal growth that you are still unaware of.

Whether you attend seminars regularly, listen to audios or join Success Trace Private Membership, it’s your responsibility to continue ‘upgrading’ yourself. No one’s going to motivate you or give you the cutting edge strategies for success - you got to seek that out for yourself because, again, it’s your life.

One more thing - stop telling people about your sad story or TELLING YOURSELF, get over that and start thinking how you can reach your goals (but please, not by asking the Universe to give you money). You might think it’s easy for me to say this today because I’m “Patric Chan” or any of those craps… think again, bucko. I used to be in your shoes too and so do Anthony Robbins, Robert Kiyosaki, Mark Victor Hansen, Robert Allen, Jack Canfield and all of those gurus you admire. So in all fairness, I think if you start taking full responsibility for your life and create the eagerness to be far more supreme than where you are right now, you “Chan” do it. I believe.

If you like what you’ve read, I look forward to hear from you. Just leave your feedback or message in the Comments below and I’ll personally read it.

To your success in 2010,

Patric Chan

The Power Of Sleep

October 9, 2009 by admin · 1 Comment

Today, I think, I’ll write on a topic that most self improvement gurus hardly talk about…

The power of sleeping. I know it’s not a ’sexy’ topic but if you understand the power of it, you can actually see changes in your life - not just health but wealth.

I tried to write something for you to read yesterday but I couldn’t force myself to do that because I was having lack of sleep. But today, as I’m writing right now, it’s just a breeze of effort because I slept ‘enough’ last night.

I know that many people get rich at the cost of their health- which of course, it defeats the point of being wealthy.

This should not happen to you, or to me. When you build your wealth, it should be your happiest journey of all time and not a struggling moment.

I used to try to sleep less so that I have more ‘time’ to do more work. Theoretically, that sounded like an effective way but in reality, I was actually producing less and being an unhappy person.

Your body and mine are scientifically developed so that they’ll automatically rejuvenate themselves when our bodies go to rest - this includes your brain development and body cells. They need this time for them to ‘work’ so that you’re healthy.

There are exceptional people who can sleep very little and still be at top performance. Who knows, you might be one of them but if you’re not, then you need to get enough sleep.

You see, with ‘enough’ sleep, you can stay fresh, energetic and most importantly, not being grumpy.

Let me give you an example…

You wake up and not having enough sleep. Your mind goes into this thougt… “Sigh, I got to wake up again…. I wish I can sleep for another hour or two.”

Then your whole day is messed up because you start with a ‘bad’ day, right at the spot you woke up!

But on the other hand, if you wake up and say, “That was a good sleep, I can’t wait to see what the Day has to offer and do my stuff!”

You wake up smiling and look forward for your day.

So how much is enough?

To me, it’s not really by the hours but how much your body needs. So by definition, ‘enough’ would means whenever my body and mind are ready to ‘wake up’. If you’re thinking that this is not achievable for you, that’s rational saying because you might have a commitment to wake up on time (like getting to the office).

But if you’re determine enough, this can change. It doesn’t require you to be a genius to achieve this because you have the control to choose when to sleep at night. If you have to wake up early, then wouldn’t it make sense for you to sleep earlier?

Even if you have less hours in a day now (because you sleep more), it really doesn’t means that you’ll be accomplishing less.

Have you heard of the sentence, “less is more”?

I read a book, The Power Of Less by Leo Babauta and it talks about being efficient and effective in your life. One of the key lessons I’ve learned in it is knowing how to set limits for own yourself. Once you have your own limits, you know what you’re aiming for and you don’t get overwhelmed with the unnecessary tasks and ‘opportunities’.

Going back to the topic of sleeping.

There are a few things I want to share with you to get the most out of it:

1. Don’t eat a lot before you go to sleep. I know you’ve heard about this, I’m not worry about you getting fat but by eating that way, you’re going to sleep more unnecessarily. Your body will need to work overtime to process that food when you’re sleeping.

2. Before you sleep, reflect what are the 3 most important tasks you’ve completed today and sleep on it - let your unconscious world take over from there.

3. Before you go to sleep, reflect your day of how gratitude you are - you’ll have a happier sleep.

4. Take a quick nap in the day time if you have to, don’t feel guilty with it - it’ll rejuvenate you to perform better at your work, whether it’s a physical work or work that requires your thinking power. Of course, this goes without saying, it’s a nap, not sleep.

5. If you find yourself having hard to sleep because your mind won’t ’sleep’ yet, have a conversation with it - let your mind knows that you’re aware of his message and acknowledge it.

Sleeping is not really part of your body but part of your mind. Most people think that sleeping is just an ‘activity’ where it is required for the body to be fully functional. That’s true but I believe, the biggest part that people are missing out is sleeping is actually a way how your sub-conscious mind connects with the Universe to ‘attract’ success and wealth into your life effortlessly.

As strange as it sounds, our subconscious minds are busy working on our goals mostly during the period of your sleep.

So not only sleeping is important for your health and positive thoughts, it’s also doing other thing for you at the subconscious level, which is manifesting success into your life.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Reading this article is not an excuse for you to sleep a lot and waste time. That’s not the purpose of this article at all. Use your own common sense of how much sleep you need.

If you find value in what you read, please leave your comment below. This goes without saying that I’ll appreciate that since I read every single comment personally to know what my readers like and think.

Optimize Yourself

September 28, 2009 by admin · 9 Comments

I assume you have a computer or else you won’t be reading this blog.

The reason why I’m talking about a computer is because I want you to get the metaphor of optimization. When you first bought your computer, you don’t really need to do much optimization since it’s already configured to be optimized. But after using it for months or intensively, it started to slow down and sometimes, it acts ‘weird’ like auto shut down, hanged and so on.

So you optimize it regularly by clearing the disk space, doing defragmentation, scan it with anti-virus, reformat the hard disk and so on.

If you don’t do that, your computer will perform very badly for you, which means you’ll be unproductive. Or worse, it might just ‘die’. Imagine all of your work is in that computer and it’s not performing well anymore, you can’t get your things done the way it used to be anymore – forever. In a computer, you can do backup – in your life, there’s NO BACKUP. There’s only you. You messed up, you’re in trouble.

So how often do your optimize yourself?

Three areas of life’s optimization:

Your health. Every day, you’re putting junk food into your body - from the coffee you drink to the cheeseburger you eat. Of course, if you’re already eating a healthy living right now, then you don’t have this problem but GENERALLY, most people just eat without health’s conscious because they don’t see the effect immediately.

Am I asking you not to drink coffee or eat cheeseburger? You could, but I’m not asking you to do that. But the least you got to do is to optimize your life within the health area. Let me put it this way – you don’t see your artery cloaking or your blood sugar increasing until you’re given the ‘alert’. That’s like when you’re using your computer half way and it suddenly ‘hangs’ for no reason.

Start optimizing by making a habit to cleanse your body regularly and watch your diet to make sure it’s balanced. Balance in terms of nutrients and the amount of food.

Drink green drink, don’t take too much sugar-stuff, take more vegetables and so on. Common, logical stuff and it’ll work wonders for your health.

Optimize your brain. Believe it or not, you’re not using the most of your brain right now. Feed it with more knowledge, make it healthy and so on.

How is your memory retention? How is your analytical skill? How much knowledge you know about the things you need to know to achieve your goal?

Optimizing your brain also includes taking care of it. I’m not a doctor and can’t give you any advice but I can tell you the basic stuff – avoid unhealthy food and music that damages your brain. Listen to binaural audio to stimulate your brain, TO OPTIMIZE YOUR BRAIN. Don’t tell you can’t do this, it’s effortless dude.

Optimize your effectiveness and efficiency. It’s your choice – you can achieve your goal slower or quicker. The problem with achieving goal slower is will risk you from not getting there at all because if it’s too slow, other things get caught up in your life and you stop pursuing your dream.

What you can do is to list out what is your strong ability and strength. It’s much easier to increase your strong points than to fix your weak points.

Figure out what is your goal and how you’re going to get there. Once you know these, you’ll know the steps to reach and you can optimize every single step to make it easier and more fun. Pursuing goals is supposed to be a fun thing to do, not a chore. It’s something that you excitedly anticipate to do. For instance, if you want to become a millionaire, think how wonderful it is to achieve your goal but not how hard it is to get there.

Don’t read anymore, go and optimize your life now. Don’t wait till the computer crashes.

If you find value in what you read, please leave your comment below. And if you like to discuss this article with other people, go to the forum.

There Are Two Types Of Time

February 6, 2009 by admin · 7 Comments

THE BEST PLACES TO SHARE AND LEARN ABOUT SELF-IMPROVEMENT:
www.successandlife.com/forum

==========================================================

We all have only 24 hours in a day.

Do we use that time productively or does time seem to fly by under our noses?

Well, there are two types of time - Opportunity time and Rejuvenate time.

Opportunity time refers to the time that we will use to achieve success, to gain more material wealth. It’s the time when we should be most productive.

But to balance it out, we also need rejuvenating time when we kick back and recharge our batteries - to enrich our mind and body.

A lot of people think that opportunity time is more important than rejuvenating time. Therefore, they let their opportunity time eat into their rejuvenating time, thinking that after they have finished something or there is a slack in their schedule, they can take the time to relax.

Well, that’s true…

*BUT* let me tell you this - they are BOTH important.

If you are depending on your schedule to find time to recharge, then you are not in control of your life. You’re ‘poor’. You are letting your schedule control you. Whether or not you are able to fit in some relaxation time in your schedule depends on you.

Just look at this way - even the most powerful machines need to shut down every now and then for maintenance or else they will be damaged so severely that an expensive overhaul is required. Even with that, sometimes they don’t go back to functioning as well as they used to.

It’s the same thing with our minds and bodies. We need to take time to kick back and recharge or else we become less effective in performing to ‘work’ at Opportunity Time. Our ability to concentrate and accuracy will be diminished and we make mistakes that will take us MORE TIME just to fix.

If you’re really smart about planning your schedule, you’ll know the importance of fitting in some relaxation time that make you stay sharp and focused.

When I really need fully concentrate on doing something, I shut myself in my office to do it. Or perhaps, somewhere that I’m not surrounded with people I know. You got to be firm with people or they will eat into your opportunity time.

People are not the only “thieves” who take away your opportunity time.

Do you find that you spend an hour a day doing trivial things that don’t actually contribute towards producing results? No? You must be kidding. (smile)

These things are just excuses for you not go tackle the more important but difficult tasks. But you know what– it’s the difficult tasks that produce results.

It’s the same thing why not everyone is wealthy. To be wealthy, you got to do the ‘hard’ stuff first and not many are willing to sacrifice that. IS THIS YOU? If it is, then it’s good that you realize this now.

If you really need to do the nitty gritty stuff, get someone else to do those easy things for you so that you can concentrate on the bigger things.

Delegate.

Once you are able to get the more difficult but important things out of the way, you will be able to breathe easy. You can see your productivity and know that you are on top of things.

And most of all, remember to find time to replenish your energy so that you will be fully recharged to tackle more challenges ahead.

Now, there’s actually another sort of time - I called, it “Pleasure Time”. This is the time that you spend doing the things that you like, waste it but this will only exist if you take care of your Opportunity Time (you do need money) and Rejuvenate Time (you got to be healthy and conscious to play).

If you like what you read, it’ll be cool if you can leave a Comment as well. I’ll definitely appreciate it very much because I read every single Comment posted here personally.
