It’s common to hear an advice like, “Son, money doesn’t grows on tree” from a parent.
So the Son felt disappointed because his parent can’t afford to buy the stuff he wanted.
Could be something as simple as a new pair of shoes for Christmas. And of course, the parent would only say this if they really can’t afford – I believe that any parents would give the world to their child if they can. I have a child too, so I can relate.
Sidebar: This is NOT a parenting lesson so please don’t leave a comment about spoiling your kid and so on – I’m giving this as a metaphor for today’s post.
What happened? The Son developed a new belief system. As he keeps on getting these, sooner or later, it’ll be permanently accepted as the ‘truth’.
But what if you say to yourself, ‘money grows on tree’.
And you believe that.
Your whole world will change.
Money growing on trees is just a metaphor but if you start saying that all the time, you’ll start to manifest the thought that it’s EASY TO GET MONEY.
That’s the first step – to overcome your problem in your mind first. Once you’ve successfully done that, everything else is east and you know why?
Because if you really believe that is attainable and easy, you won’t give up.
Dreams are crushed not because they were too hard to achieve – they were crushed even before they start.
Becoming rich is difficult if one is obsessed with the mechanics of it because he’ll keep on finding more ways and trying his best to tweak the vehicle he’s using to obtain wealth. I was in that shoe before – the first vehicle I wanted to use was option trading. At that point, I was depressed because I couldn’t understand how it works and it overwhelmed my mind.
And you know how I finally crack the code of wealth?
Yup, you got it – by understanding how wealth works and how it starts from the mindset.
Until today, I still haven’t learned option trading but I’ve got my million from somewhere else. Point stated.
I know that some reading this will still think ‘millionaire mindset’ stuff is wishy washy. That’s why they don’t get it.
But be cautious about accepting metaphors blindly.
For instance, money growing on trees means passive income. But passive income is almost a myth if you don’t truly understand it. You still need to take care your tree right?
Well, same thing with passive income – you need to take care of your income streams too.
That’s why I prefer calling passive income as leverage income.
Use metaphors the right way and you’ll overcome your limiting belief. They’re very powerful because they relate to what you know and believe. But use wrongly, you’ll end up being one of those over-obsessed positive thinker who looks like cuckoo.

Yes the money tree metaphor is very valid actually, and in fact a revered symbol in many of the most ancient cultures around the world – the Golden Money Tree.
But aside from that, you’re right it does take some attention to take care of a money tree or an income stream.
Water the root, enjoy the fruit
and all that…
I’ll start thinking about this right now, I’m in a little trouble about money and need a positive way of thinking…
Thank you, Patric!
The way we think certainly influences our action, and whether our actions are sustained. Using a metaphor is a very powerful way of getting your thoughts to align with a belief system.
Like if you think that fairy tales do come true, then there’s a good chance that you’ll take action to make that fairy tale in your life appear with a waive of your magic wand (spelled w-o-r-k).
Great thoughts, Patric.
yes, we have to change our mindset to achieve wealth, i am trying really hard to do that, apparently it takes more time that it seems.
i think it all about the mind set, if we keep telling ourselves money do grow on trees it will come. i am really working on myself to reach the point where my believe system is right on mark.
thanks for this
is the answer to get rich to get peole to pay you to tell them how to get rich.
Thanks again Patric for chipping away at my “old” mindset which is founded on a scarcity mentality. The view that “money grows on trees” does open a whole new world for me…. Can’t wait to read your next insight.
God bless.

Hi Alan,
I\’ve been reading Patric\’s stuff for years now and I couldn\’t help to answer your question.
People pay Math teacher to teach them math.
People pay comedian for jokes.
People pay interior designer for designing advice.
Don\’t you think people should pay you if you teach them how to become rich?
Think about it.
Is it the answer to become rich? Of course not. Not everyone can teach others to become rich.

Hi Patric,
Thanks for the good work you are doing. I totally agree with you, what one confesses becomes a lifestyle, if one believes that its easy to get money, then you just attract it, if one thinks that you have to Roll Up your Sleeves and really work hard to get money – viola -then money will be hard to come by. I am grateful now that i know that there is a Millionaires MindSet and things are now smoother and easier, ofcourse having held an opinion for very many years, one does not just break a habit, i get challenges here and there but im happy. Thanks for the good work you are doing.
Be Blessed
Cathy
Patric, I do believe in the millionaire mindset. I have seen money grow on trees, too. Thing is.. you have to integrate the Action into the puzzle (the equation.) Obviously, we cannot do it with thoughts alone. The mindset implies and drives the action. We feel free to take the correct actions. We believe we can. We suddenly see opportunities.. A B -> outcome
